Spotlight Search the Cullprit for 3G Upgrades.Now several weeks after writing about problems with my upgrade from 3Gs to OS4 problems are starting to surface on discussion boards regarding 3G phones upgraded to OS 4 being incredibly slow. I found 3GS to be similarly affected and subject to crashes. The main problem is indexing. Turning off Spotlight Search indexing across the board will return most of the speed. You can find that feature under
Settings_General on the iPhone. You can turn all of them off or just enable the ones you really need-- Howard Sobel. P.S. You may ask why I use an iPhone if I am so involved with Windows? I am much stuck with ATT as it really does work best in the two most frequent places I travel and right now the iPhone 3GS/4 is the best phone out there but Droid is very close. It also handles
Microsoft Exchange Mail really really well which is key application. Many Windows Users who use our site are mobile warriors and will use whatever works best for them in the smartphone world. When Windows Mobile can truly deliver I may switch. I used Windows Mobile 6 for many years on my Treo and it did many things really well at the time over the competition. When my puppy retrieved the phone a year ago the screen was a victim. I had to make another choice. I chose the best product at that time which was the 3GS.
