As with all registry hacks, you need to exercise caution; and you use this method at your own risk. Don't come crying to me if things go south because you tried this. In other words, make sure you make a back up of your registry information before you do this.

To make a REG file for this run Notepad and enter the code shown below. Its best just to copy and paste this into Notepad. Make sure you copy only what you need.

Choose File--Save As and name the file NoDocs.reg. Locate a folder to store the file in and click Save. To merge the file with the Registry, double-click it. Restart the computer and your Documents folder will no longer appear in the Start menu.

If you use Windows NT 4.0 Workstation, use the following file.
