Give Your Assistant the Boot
If the Office Assistant gets on your nerves, you can always disable it. In fact, we don't know of too many people who fully appreciate that darn paper clip. Getting rid of "Clippy" could prove to be one of the more productive steps in your day.

To disable the Office Assistant, simply right click on it and choose Options from the context menu. On the corresponding dialog box, uncheck "Use the Office Assistant." That gives the clip the boot. You won't see him again. If you ever want to bring him back, choose Help--Show the Office Assistant.
