If you place a shortcut to a file on your computer and then change the location of the file, the shortcut may no longer work. In some cases, NT will locate the file and make the changes for you. Other times, NT may offer to let you locate the file. And in some cases, you may have to modify the shortcut.
To modify the shortcut, right-click on it and choose Properties. When the Shortcut Properties dialog box opens, click on the Shortcut tab. Type the new path into the Target text entry box and then click on OK.
