Sorting with Hidden Rows and Columns
Hiding data is easy. Simply select the row or column, choose Row or Column from the Format menu, and then select Hide from the submenu.
However, you should know that Excel 2000 won't sort data in hidden rows or columns. That means if you sort a range of data that comprises a smaller hidden range of data and you eventually redisplay that hidden data, your data will no longer be sorted correctly. Specifically, the data that wasn't hidden will remain sorted but the unhidden data will still be in its original order.
