Retaining Data Formats
If you have your data formatted exactly the way you want it in your Access database, but need to move it to Excel for analysis, you can move it witout any formatting problems. All you need to do is open your table in Datasheet view, select the data (or entire table), and Cut or Copy it. In Excel, open your spreadsheet and press Ctrl-V to paste the copied data.
When you cut or copy data from an Access table and paste it into an Excel spreadsheet, Excel retains the formatting you assigned to the data in Access.
