Changing the Default CD Player
While Windows Media Player can play every type of music media under the sun, sometimes you may not want all of the overhead associated with it. When all you want to do is play a music CD, you may want to revert to Windows' default CD Player.
If you want to try going back to the Windows CD player, go to View, Folder Options in any folder and click the File Types tab. Scroll down to Audio CD, select it, and then click the Edit tab. Select Play, click Edit again, and under Application Used To Perform Action, type
C:\WINDOWS\Cdplayer.exe
Click OK and then click Close twice to exit.
