Change the Drive
If you're not sure what to do about playing music after you add a new CD-ROM drive, check this out. Let's say your original CD designation was D. Now you have two CD-ROM drives--D and E, and you'd like to listen to music on E.
First of all, if you haven't already done so, you need to move the audio cable that runs from the sound card to the new drive. Next, click
Start, Control Panel, Sound and Audio Devices. Click the Hardware tab. Highlight the new optical drive and then click the Properties button. On the Properties tab, and make sure you set the volume to the level you want. You should also insure that the Enable digital CD audio from this CD-ROM device is checked.
OK yourself back to the desktop and you should be good to go.
