Scan with Office 97's Photo Editor
You can scan and insert a picture into Word, Excel and PowerPoint files. Before you attempt this however, make sure you've installed Office 97's Photo Editor. You also need to have all drivers required by your scanner. If you're already using the scanner, then you already have the proper software installed.
To scan and insert a picture from within your Office app, choose Insert, Picture, From Scanner. This will open Microsoft Photo Editor and your scanning software. Complete the scan as usual, and the picture will simultaneously appear in Microsoft Photo Editor and in your target Office program.
Note: In case Photo Editor isn't already installed in Office 97, here's how:
Office will do the rest, and when it's done, you should have a new Microsoft Photo Editor icon in your Office group folder.
- Run Microsoft Office Setup from your Office group folder
- In the Office Setup window that appears, select Add/Remove...
- In the next window (Maintenance), select Office Tools from the Options list, then click Change Option
- In the Options list, scroll down and place a checkmark next to Microsoft Photo Editor
- Click OK, then Continue
