Command Prompt with a Click
In a previous tip, we described a way to start an MS-DOS program by dragging its icon to the command prompt window. If you'd like to open a command prompt at the directory of your choice, you can do it with a right click by following this procedure:

You can add the command prompt to the Context menu that opens when you right-click a folder in Windows Explorer. Run Windows Explorer and choose Tools, Folder Options. When the Options dialog box opens, click the File Types tab. Now locate Folder and select it. Thenc click the Advanced button in the Details for... area.

Click the New button. In the New Action dialog, type

Command Prompt

in the Action field, and in the Application Used To Perform Action field, type

Click OK until you get back to Windows Explorer. Now you can right-click a folder and choose Command Prompt to open a command prompt window at the folder's path.
