NT 4.0 Hardware Compatibility List (HCL)
The Windows NT 4.0 Hardware Compatibility List is an invaluable tool for determining whether NT can be expected to successfully run on your existing hardware (or any hardware you plan on buying), and it can be found on the NT CD-ROM in the /Support directory. Look for HCL.HLP and double-click to open it.

The Windows NT 4.0 Hardware Compatibility List (HCL) contains products that have been tested and have passed compatibility testing with Windows NT 4.0. Please note that MS has not tested every computer and/or device in all possible configurations; and that some computers may be sold with peripherals that are not yet supported by Windows NT, or that require a device driver supplied by the manufacturer.

For more information on Hardware Compatibility, or if you want to see about a specific piece of hardware (since the HCL is constantly being updated), check out the Microsoft Windows Hardware Quality Labs web site at http://www.microsoft.com/hwtest/.
