Name it Your Way
Managing your computer's drive letters is easy in Windows XP. You can easily change a disk drive's letter designation by running the Disk Management Console in the Microsoft Management Console.

To get to this utility, you need to have Administrative privilages on your PC. Log in as the computer's administrator and then run Computer Management in the Administrative Tools Program Group off the Start Menu. In the Storage group, Click on Disk Management.

To change the drive letter of your disk drive of choice, click on the drive to select it; and then right click on it. Select Change Drive Letter and Paths from the context menu that appears. In the resulting dialog box, click the Change button. In the dialog box that follows that, click the drive letter drop down and select the drive letter you wish to change to and click ok until you get back to the Computer Management Console. You will need to restart your computer for the change to take effect.
