Most often, navigating your computer's folders in a single window is the preferred way to get around your hard drive. Some times, it isn't and you need to open a folder in a different window.

From the My Computer window, you can open a drive or folder in a new window by simply holding down the CTRL key and double clicking on the drive or folder you want to open in a new window.
