Oops! Wrong Video Settings
If you try to tweak your video settings and end up with something that doesn't work, you may end up with a blank screen. If this is the case, don't worry. You have two options.

First, you can simply wait 15 seconds. The display may reset itself and reuse the previous settings. Windows usually asks you to confirm the settings after it applies them to insure that they worked. If you don't click the correct button, your settings will revert to your previously accepted settings.

Secondly, you can simply kill the power on your PC. If your PC doesn't recover, killing the power will allow you to restart your PC in VGA mode. Then you can reset your video settings to something you know will work.
