Did you know you can force Windows Explorer to open in a designated folder--and display only that folder?

Let's assume that you have a Windows Explorer shortcut on your desktop. Now, let's say that you'd like to have Explorer open in the D:\ folder and display only the contents of D:\. Right-click the shortcut icon and choose Properties. Click the Shortcut tab and then click in the Target entry box. Delete the current contents and type in

Explorer.exe /e,/root,D:\

Click OK to close the dialog box and save your changes. When you double-click the Explorer shortcut icon, the program will open in the D:\ folder.
