Linking Documents--Part 3 of 5: Breaking a Linked Document
In this series of tips, we've covered various aspects of linking documents via Microsoft's Object Linking and Embedding (OLE) technology. Today, we'll tell you what to do if you decide, that this whole link thing just isn't working out, and you need to break those links.
To break a link and edit the text of a document normally, first choose Edit, Links. In the resulting dialog box, select the correct link and click Break Link. Your document treats the linked passage as standard text from this point forward.
