Tile Selected Windows
This tip works in Windows XP and Windows Vista, though the command is somewhat different in XP than Vista.

There are times when you need to work with data from two different programs. To see more than one open program at a time, you can right-click in an empty space on the Windows taskbar and select Show Windows Side by Side (Tile Windows Horizontally in XP) or Show Windows Stacked (Tile Windows Vertically in XP). This is fine if the only programs open are the two that you're interested in; but it's less useful when you have a dozen apps running.

To tile just a subset of your open programs (at least in Windows XP), click on the taskbar button for the first program you want to tile, then Ctrl-click on the button for the second program you want to be able to see. Both taskbar buttons should remain selected. Right-click on the second taskbar button and select Tile Windows Horizontally or Tile Windows Vertically.
