Diskeeper 2011 - Software So Evolutionary Software Where Can They Go From Here?

It's been so long since I've used the traditional defragmentation tools that come with all versions of Windows that I've taken for granted that hard drive defragmentation is blindingly fast. To assume this is a huge disservice to Diskeeper Corporation. Microsoft’s native defrag is awfully slow compared to Diskeeper or even some other competitors. You really haven't experienced the advances in technology that Diskeeper has developed over the last several years. They introduced technology that slowed down and prevented fragmentation in Diskeeper 2010 so I thought it was impossible to improve on the concept of defrag much more. Not so! By increasing the efficiency of their algorithms, they have decreased the wear and tear on your hard disk and your computing performance while it works in the background. Decreasing the overall disk activity also decreases your electrical consumption. This may not be a huge savings on "your" electric bill but consider how much savings this amounts to in datacenters where thousands of hard disks are used. So being GREEN doesn't mean paying a penalty. In fact, the opposite is true for Diskeeper. I would go as far as declaring this the software utility "Product of the Year" if we didn't have 8 more months to go in 2011. I've tested Diskeeper on a spanking new 64 bit powered Core I5 Asus Notebook. After two weeks of heavy use, fragmentation was already showing up on my "C" partition. The C: drive contains my programs including Microsoft Office and the D:/ drive contains some of my data. Considering I use Outlook with Exchange Server and I'm deleting huge amounts of email I assume that's partially responsible for some of my fragmentation. and see for yourself if this doesn't significantly put some new life back in your hard disk and increases performance and boot up times. If there's anything wrong with the product I just haven't found it. Incidentally, it will also optimize your flash memory cards and defrag them as well. I use Windows7 ReadyBoost on USB and flash media. It's pretty cool to see how doing a fresh defrag instantly shows performance increases. System Requirements
