You can set up your own pop-up menu item that will appear when you right-click My Computer, and here's how:

Run REGEDIT and find My Computer. (Note: if you've renamed the "My Computer" icon, search for the new name instead) This is generally found at: My Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}

In the left pane, click on the [+] next to the entry named {20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D} to expand it.

Under that, highlight the entry named shell (click on it once), then right-click it and select the New, then Key command.

Name this new key My Folder (or something else appropriate - this name is what will appear on the right-click menu under My Computer)

Highlight this new key (My Folder) in the left pane, then double-click on the Default entry in the right pane. Give this key a Value of &My Folder. (The placement of the ampersand indicates which letter will be used as the speed key, the underlined letter that appears on the menu - in this case we used the letter "M")

Highlight My Folder in the left pane again and create a new key under it. Name this key Command. Set its default value (in the right pane) to C:\windows\explorer.exe C:/

This particular example will open the root of Drive C. If you add /e to the end of the line, you'll explore it rather than open it. Example: C:\windows\explorer.exe C:/ /e Now specify your favorite (or new) folder destination, add your shortcuts and name it to suit yourself. The image below shows the item added to your menu.

Note: if you choose a personal folder than contains a long file name, you'll need to enclose the long file name in quotations. Example: C:\windows\explorer.exe C:/"This is my folder"

WARNING!! This is a REGISTRY HACK! And as such, you MUST FIRST make a backup of your Registry so that you can recover from any mistakes you might make. The Registry is a very unforgiving place if you don't know EXACTLY what you are doing. An incorrect Registry entry can render your entire system INOPERABLE. DO NOT attempt to change Registry settings without a Backup. Don't say we didn't warn you...

The Configuration Backup Utility is one of the CD-Extras, so if you don't have the CD-ROM version of Windows 95, CLICK HERE to download it now.
