From Windows 95 to Windows NT
It is possible to upgrade from Windows 95 to Windows NT Workstation 4.0, but be aware that this is not a standard upgrade path. You can't simply upgrade your Windows 95 folder; you need to install Windows NT in a new folder. (Windows NT will set up a dual-boot system for you - shown below.) Then reinstall your Windows 95 applications in Windows NT. Reinstalling applications into another Operating System doesn't mean you have to have two copies, you can simply reinstall right into the same folder where they exist now.
The reason you need to reinstall applications into NT is because some (most) of the Windows 95 applications won't run properly because they may require separate additions to each Operating System's Registry - so install them one at a time and check them out as you go. When you're sure all is working well, you can uninstall Windows 95, or keep both if you have the room. And why not have the best of both worlds?
Selecting MS-DOS - Windows 95 from the menu above will take you to a normal Windows 95 boot, unless you've Built your own boot process for Windows 95 as outlined a few days ago, in which case you'll be transported to that boot menu. From there you can further specify whether you want to continue with a Win95 boot, or boot to your old DOS.
