Customize your toolbars
You can resize (or even remove) any of the toolbars that appear in your Internet Explorer 3.x screen. Each toolbar has a "handle" resembling two vertical bars on the left edge, which when dragged act as sliders. All you have to do is grab this "handle", (when your cursor turns into that double-headed arrow) and drag left or right until the toolbar is the size you want. To move a toolbar, grab it with the mouse and drag to its new location.

If you want to further customize the look of the toolbar area, or remove only certain portions, go to View/Options and look for the Toolbar Options at the bottom of the General tab.
