Adjust your keyboard settings

You can specify how fast your keyboard repeats characters, plus the delay time before the repetitions begin by launching the Keyboard item in Control Panel, then experimenting with the speed settings on the Speed tab. There's even a text box where you can test your settings. You'll also find a slider so you can set how fast your cursor will blink in a document.
