Make sure you have a Repair Disk!

The repair information on your Emergency Repair Disk can be used to reconstruct your Windows NT system files, system configuration, and startup environment variables if they become damaged. Also, anytime you make a change to your hardware or software setup, you should also update your Emergency Repair disk.

To do this, you'll need your current Repair Disk, or, if you haven't made one before, an empty, formatted disk. Insert the Repair disk into the floppy disk drive and click Start. Choose Help, then click the Index tab. Type Repair Disk and click Display. Click the Repair Disk button. When the dialog box opens, click Update Repair Info. When the operation finishes, click Exit.

You can also make your own shortcut to this utility and put it in your System Tools folder. Look for RDISK.EXE in the \System32 folder.
