Keep your Search Results handy
When you conduct a Web search, chances are you'll get a results page with a long list of links to check out. To keep these search results handy, choose the New Window command from the File menu. This will open a second copy of Internet Explorer. This way, you can keep your search results in one window while you check out the links in another.

And this added trick comes from Tom Nielsen: A better way to do this is to Shift+click on the link while on that search page. That way you can open a new window for that link with fewer steps.
