Notepad's Auto-Delete

If you like to use Notepad to store notes for yourself while you work, here's something you may not have noticed. When you use cut and paste to move all the text from Notepad to your primary document, Notepad will then decline to save an empty document. It will offer to delete the file instead.

To take a look at how this works, add some text to a Notepad document and save it under a new name. Now select and cut the text and then choose File, Save. Because there's nothing left in the document to save, Notepad will offer to delete it.
