Replace your NT Install Disks

Have you lost, misplaced or damaged your NT install disks? Making a new set can take some time if you do it the old way, by starting the installation process all over again by running WINNT from a DOS prompt, like you probably did the first time around. But as long as you still have a valid copy of NT running there's an easier way.

Assuming you're running the Intel platform of Windows NT, pop in your NT CD, go to the I386 folder and launch WINNT32.EXE from within NT. You'll be presented with the Windows NT 4.00 Upgrade/Installation window. Just click on the Options button, make sure Create Boot Floppy Disks is checked, then uncheck Create Local Source (this prevents NT from starting the long process of copying installation files to your hard drive).

That's it, click OK then Continue, and just follow the prompts - and make sure you have three blank floppies before you begin.
