Get the latest Internet Explorer 3.0
So, you've decided to stick with Internet Explorer 3.0 a while longer - you feel it's just fine for you needs or maybe you're not quite ready to make the jump to IE 4. No problem, after all it is still your machine. But, if you're a faithful Internet Explorer version 3.0 or 3.01 user, you may as well be using the latest version. Microsoft released a newer version 3.02 with includes all of the previous bugs fixes, security patches and even the new Authenticode 2.0 update.

The latest IE 3.02 for Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0 can be downloaded from:

Note: for users of both windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0, here's something to keep in mind. For some unexplained reason, the drop-down menu on this page lists two separate downloads for each platform:

Internet Explorer 3.02 with Authenticode 2.0 for Windows NT 4.0

Internet Explorer 3.02 with Authenticode 2.0 for Windows 95

We don't know why Microsoft presents it this way since both "versions" are virtually identical. They may lead you down different paths to the final download page, but once you're there, both choices download exactly the same file. In other words, save yourself a lot of time, and just download one or the other if you run both Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0

For an easy version check, open IE, click Help, then About Internet Explorer. If you're running the latest IE, the version should show Version 3.02 (4.70.1300).

The same thing applies to users of Internet Mail and News, even though Microsoft still lists this as Internet Mail and News 1.0 for Windows 95 & NT 4.0, there is a later build (1162). Check your IMN version by opening Mail, then click Help then About Internet Mail and News. The latest build should show 4.70.1162. The latest IMN can be downloaded from:
