Quick lines in Word
Adding a line across the width of the page is a great way to add a divider in your document. This can be accomplished by going to the menu and selecting Format, Borders and Shading, then choosing from the many different types, sizes and styles.

But suppose all you really want is one single line, and you want it quick. No problem, Word lets you accomplish this with four fast keystrokes.

Simply start on a new line, type three dashes (---) and press Enter, and instantly you'll get a clear divider for sections of your document.
