Reduce the Task Manager

A while back we told you how to get a Quick CPU usage check by running the Task Manager minimized. Here's another way to get CPU Usage information without minimizing and without leaving the entire Task Manager window running, it's quite a large window to leave open, especially if you have Options, Always On Top checked.

Once Task Manager is running, click on the Performance tab. Here you can see graphical displays for CPU and MEMORY Usage. Simply double-click anywhere on this page to reduce it down to a simple CPU Usage monitor. The resulting window can even be resized by dragging and border or corner. Double-click it again to restore it to its original size.
