Multiple Processors in NT 4.0

If you happen to have a machine equipped with multiple processors (*see Note below) running NT 4.0, there's a couple of features available to you that the single processor crowd won't have. For starters, open Task Manager (Start, Run, TASKMGR.EXE - or press Ctrl+Alt+Del and select Task Manager). Now go to the Performance tab - see that CPU Usage History window? Well guess what? You can split that view to track all processors at once.

From the View menu, select CPU History - you should see TWO choices instead of the usual one, One Graph, All CPU's and the new addition, One Graph, Per CPU. Clicking the latter will split the CPU History window so that you can watch all processors in action.

*Note: Multiple Processors refers to having MORE THAN ONE physical processor installed, this DOES NOT include a Pentium P-II processor, (in case you were wondering, the "II" does NOT mean TWO processors, sorry) - NT will see a P-II as a single processor. Now if you have Multiple P-II's, this qualifies (and you're a lucky dog!).
