Sometimes Windows NT 4.0 will detect your modem and call it a standard modem. This happens even when the modem is supported by NT and the right driver files are available.
If this happens to you, you can manually select the correct driver. This is all you need to do to get the modem to function properly. Simply open Control Panel, Modems and if the incorrect modem (eg. standard modem) is listed, simply remove it using the Remove button. Next, use the Add button to select the right modem. Just make sure you have the NT installation CD or your modem driver disks handy.
