IE5 - Download Only
One feature that's carried over from IE4 is the option during setup, to choose between Install Now (Active Setup) or to Download Only. The latter is extremely handy if you have more than one machine to upgrade, or if you think you'll ever need to reinstall. If you choose Install Now, the installation files will be removed from the temporary directory upon completion, meaning you'll have to download the entire package again should you ever need to reinstall.
The only problem, is that choosing either of these methods isn't nearly as intuitive as it was with IE4. In IE4 you came across these choices in their own window at the beginning of Setup. This isn't the case anymore, in fact, you now have to do a little digging to find the choice for Download Only.
First of all, to Download Only, you have to choose to do a custom install as shown here, then click Next. In the next window you have to find and select the small button marked Advanced, then click Next again. This is where you'll find the option to download the install files and save them to your hard drive.
