Automatic Registry Restoration
The Windows 98 Registry is automatically restored after a catastrophic failure.

If the Registry gets corrupted, Windows 98 will automatically revert to the previous day's Registry. Every day, Windows 98 stores a backup copy of the registry, keeping the last five day's copies available.

These five copies are stored in your \Windows\Sysbckup folder as rb000.cab through rb005.cab, and they can be manually restored as well.

See our previous tip on Running Scanreg from DOS to see how this is done.
