Quicker Access to Control Panel
Recently, Rex wrote us about accessing the Control Panel more quickly. As we replied, the quickest way is probably to access it from the Start menu. Although we mentioned this technique earlier in the year, we'll go over it again for newer subscribers.

If you're like Rex, the Control Panel is one of your most frequently accessed folders. As such, it can be a pain to have to go to Start, Settings, Control Panel to access each of the individual functions. Here's a handy little shortcut for placing a pop-up menu of the Control Panel on your Start menu. On the desktop, right-click and choose New, Folder. When prompted to give the folder a name, enter the following text exactly as written here:

Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}

You'll notice that your folder becomes a Control Panel folder, complete with the little tools on its jacket. Now right-click the Start menu and choose Open. Drag the new Control Panel folder to the Start menu folder. A Control Panel folder is placed on your Start menu, and you can access each of the individual Control Panels from it just as you would normally access Programs or Favorites.
