Choosing Channels
Do you use only one or two channels on the active desktop's Channel Bar? If so, then there's no need to leave the entire Channel Bar in view, monopolizing all that real estate. Turn the channels you use into desktop icons, and ditch the rest.
Click and drag any channel from the Channel Bar out onto your desktop. Let go, and a desktop icon appears for that channel. Repeat these steps for each of your favorite channels, and when you're finished, wave bye-bye to the rest: Right-click the desktop, select Active Desktop, Customize My Desktop, deselect Internet Explorer Channel Bar, and click OK. (Alternatively, hold your mouse pointer over the Channel Bar's edge, and when its title bar appears, click the X in the upper-right corner.) Over and out.
