Selecting multiple files
To select more than one item in any Explorer window (in any View, whether it's Large Icons, Small Icons, List or Details) you can drag a rectangle around multiple files, provided they are all in a contiguous area. You can also click the first icon you want to select, then hold down Shift while you select the last, and all icons in between these two points will be selected. Alternately, you can hold down Ctrl while you select items one at a time. Try sorting by Type to select files of the same extension.
