More Icons
Whenever you decide to change a shortcut icon, you'll be offered the default source of icons. It's a file called SHELL32.DLL in the \Systems subfolder of your \Windows folder. But there's another file located in the \System folder called PIFMGR.DLL that contains another group of useful icons. This is the file that Windows goes to anytime you create a DOS shortcut but there's no reason why you can't use them elsewhere. For another source, check out MORICONS.DLL, also found in \System.
If you installed the Microsoft Plus! pack, there's another great source called COOL.DLL, also located in \System, filled with lots of great Hi-Color icons! Check these out!
