Update Win95 with Service Pack 1
If you're still running a copy of the original released version of Windows 95 (4.00.950), we strongly recommend you download and install Service Pack 1 from Microsoft. The Windows 95 Service Pack 1 includes updates, fixes, system administration tools, additional components, and drivers for Windows 95. Among them are:
OLE32 Update
Microsoft Windows 95 Shell Update
Windows 95 Common Dialog Update for Windows 3.1 Legacy Printer Drivers
Vserver Update: File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks
NWServer Update: File and Printer Sharing for NetWare Networks
Vredir Update
Windows 95 Password List Update
Microsoft Plus! Update (System Agent Update)
Microsoft Exchange Update
Printer Port (Lpt.vxd) Update
The Service Pack can be downloaded here; http://www.microsoft.com/windows95/downloads/ as a set of downloadable disks or as a self-installing download. More detailed information about the Service Pack can be seen here.
NOTE: The Service Pack is intended ONLY for the original release of Windows 95 (Version 4.00.950), and NOT for the OSR2 Release (Version 4.00.950B). Once the update is applied, your machine will display a version number 4.00.950A, you can check your version number under My Computer, Properties. International versions of the Service Pack 1 Update are also available.
