Protect shared resources on the Internet
The ability to share resources across your local network is one thing, having them open to internet access is quite another.

To protect your shared files and printers from being accessed by others on the Internet, go to Control Panel and click the Internet icon. Make sure the Perform system security check before dialing option is checked.
