Time/Date stamp your Notepad files automatically
Check this out. If you open a blank Notepad file and type .LOG (that's a "period" followed by the word "LOG" in ALL CAPS) and save it, it becomes an automatically updated (time-stamped) document every time you open it. This is very handy is you need a quick-and-dirty time management tool, or if you just want to keep track of how often you open certain .TXT files.

Alternately, just hit "F5" in any Notepad file. Instant time/date stamp.
