Add Diagnostics to your Startup Disk
Did you know you can add additional programs, such as Microsoft Diagnostics, to your Windows 95 Startup disk?
You do have one, right? If not, you'd better Make an Emergency Startup Disk RIGHT AWAY!
While the Startup disk is filled with programs to help you diagnose and repair problems with your system, it doesn't have everything. Adding Microsoft Diagnostics can be a big help.
Microsoft Diagnostics is located on the Windows 95 installation CD, in the \OTHER\MSD folder. This utility is great for diagnosing problems, such as IRQ conflicts, that prevent Windows from starting. To add Microsoft Diagnostics to your Startup Disk, simply copy MSD.EXE from the CD to the Startup floppy disk.
