Application Memory Usage
The easiest way to tell how much memory a given application uses is to run the application and then press ++ to open Task Manager. Alternately, right-click on any blank area of the Taskbar, then select Task Manager from that menu.
Once Task Manager is open, click on the Processes tab and then locate your application in the list. You might find many applications use huge amounts of memory just sitting around doing nothing in particular. You can toggle the list from lowest to highest (or highest to lowest) simply by clicking the Mem Usage button at the top of that column.
