Instant Windows Exit
Tired of having to dig through the Start Menu for Shut Down, then clicking the Shut Down button in order to leave Windows and turn your machine off? Once you've decided to quit Windows, that's it. Why go through these unnecessary steps? Want to quit Windows immediately? Here's how (and it won't take a shareware app to do it):

Right-click anywhere on the Desktop and select New, Shortcut. In the Command Line box type the following line exactly as it appears (it might pay you to cut and paste this line right off this page):

C:\Windows\RUNDLL32.EXE user,ExitWindows

Just make sure the path to your Windows directory is correct and adjust if necessary. Give the new shortcut a name, like Exit Windows, and click Finish. You can right-click the shortcut later to assign it a new icon if you wish.

You can leave this shortcut here on the desktop or drag it somewhere else, like into your Start Menu, or if you're running IE4, into the Quick Launch bar. From now on, just double-click this shortcut for an instant exit from Windows.
