WINNT and WINNT32 switches
When you start the Windows NT installation by entering the WINNT32 or WINNT command from the CD-ROM, you can use a variety of options to customize the installation process. The available options are:
- /b
Causes Setup to copy the boot files to the computer's hard disk instead of to floppy disks. With this option, it is not necessary to boot the system with floppy disks to continue installation.
- /e:command
Specifies a command to be executed by Setup after installation is complete. This option is not available for WINNT.EXE.
- /i:filename
Specifies the filename of the Setup information file. This parameter does not accept a directory path. The default is DOSNET.INF.
- /ox
Causes Setup to create a set of installation boot floppy disks. These disks are the same as the disks included with the product.
- /r:directory
Creates a new directory within the directory tree where Windows NT files are installed. Include multiple /r options to create additional directories.
- /s:pathname
Specifies an alternate pathname for the directory that contains the installation files.
- /t:drive_letter
Forces Setup to place temporary files on a specific drive.
- /u
Initiates an unattended upgrade. All settings are taken from the current Windows NT installation. No user action is required during setup.
- /u:scriptfile
Initiates an unattended installation with settings taken from an answer script file.
- /x
Disables the creation of boot floppies. Use this option when you already have a set of boot floppies.
