Setting Display Refresh Rates
Windows NT 4.0 gives you the ability to manually set the refresh rate for your video card. Go into your display settings (Start, Settings, Control Panel, Display, Settings tab) and you'll see settings that don't exist in Windows 95 - namely a Refresh Frequency listbox, and two buttons marked List All Modes and Test.

Generally, the higher the rate the better, but be sure and check your video card manuafacturers' documentation for recommended settings. If you set a rate that your card can't handle you may find the system display will no longer function properly. If that happens you can always boot NT in VGA mode (using a generic VGA driver) and try again.
